Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 19 – Cambodian army commander Hun Manet paid a courtesy call on Timorese president José Manuel Ramos Horta held on Wednesday afternoon (Oct 19).

At the invitation of Cambodian king Norodom Sihamoni, Timorese president José Manuel Ramos Horta and a high delegation pay a three-day state visit to Cambodia.

“During the state visit, José Manuel Ramos Horta will be granted a Royal Audience by Cambodian king Norodom Sihamoni, at the Royal Palace,” according to the Ministry’s press release dated 18 October 2022.

José Manuel Ramos Horta will receive separate courtesy calls by Cambodian president of the Senate Say Chhum, president of the National Assembly Heng Samrin, and Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen.

Timorese president and the premier will preside over the signing ceremony of two bilateral documents, namely: Air Services Agreement, and the Memorandum of Understanding on Rice Trade between the Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste.

José Manuel Ramos Horta will also lay wreath at the Independence Monument and the Royal Memorial Statue of Cambodian late king father Norodom Sihanouk.

Availing his stay in Phnom Penh, José Manuel Ramos Horta will deliver public lectures at some outstanding universities in Phnom Penh, and grant interviews with local media outlets as well as deliver remarks at the first Cambodia-Timor-Leste Forum on Tourism and Trade for Sustainable Peace and Development.

The state visit of José Manuel Ramos Horta to Cambodia will further strengthen and deepen the relations  and cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral frameworks for mutual benefits of the two countries.
