Battambang (FN), Oct. 24 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said flood in 2022 caused larger damages compared to flood in 2020 so authorities and the people shall work together to overcome this difficulties.

The premier spoke in a meeting with flood victims in Battambang on Monday morning (Oct 24).

"This year, more provinces, including Preah Vihear, Kampong Thom, provinces surrounding Tonle Sap and along the Mekong River have been affected by floods in a larger extent compared to 2020, . However, they are still under control,” the premier underlined.

The premier expressed his condolences to all the flood victims in Battambang province.

According to a report by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, more than 220,000 hectares of rice were flooded across the country, of which 110,000 hectares were damaged. Only about 70,000 hectares of the damaged area can be rehabilitated.
