Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 8 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen had a bilateral meeting with Vietnamese prime minister Pham Minh Chinh on Tuesday (Nov 8) at the Peace Palace, Phnom Penh.

In the meeting, Pham Minh Chinh expressed his congratulations on the kingdom’s National Independence Day and congratulated premier Hun Sen for his role as the rotating chair of ASEAN.

In addition, Pham Minh Chinh also informed Samdech the general situation in Vietnam.

The two leaders also discussed political and economic aspects, in which they agreed to strengthen and expand cooperation between the two countries, especially in the economic field, promoting cross-border trade by strengthening border trade and expanding markets as well as facilitating goods flow between the two countries.

In addition, the two premiers also agreed to promote connectivity between the two countries by land and air through direct flights. They also agreed to promote strong cooperation in the digital sector as well as other fields.

In response, Samdech also thanked the Vietnamese side for always providing scholarships to Cambodia. He also congratulated Vietnam on achieving strong economic growth and effectively combating COVID19 pandemic.
