Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 12 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen mentioned that ASEAN-Japan relations is an important, strong, and long-term partner.

The premier spoke in the 25th ASEAN-Japan Summit, held on Saturday afternoon (Nov 12) at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel.

"The ASEAN-Japan heart-to-heart relationship has lasted for nearly five decades. This relation bring great and glorious success in all sectors, which has made a significant contribution to improving the quality of citizens' life in both regions," the premier underscored.

In this sense, the premier welcomed and appreciated the practical progress of the implementation, and revised implementation plan of the Vision Statement on ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation: Shared Vision, Shared Identity, Shared Future.

2023 marks the 50th anniversary of the ASEAN-Japan Summit, the ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation Summit will be held in Tokyo, Japan.

Samdech believed this event will open new chapter for the ASEAN-Japan relations.
