Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 16 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen clarified that Cambodian can not appoint a representative to attend the G20 and APEC summits, for he kingdom is not a member of G20 and APEC.

The premier spoke in a voice message on Wednesday night (Nov 16).

The two meetings specifically invited ASEAN chair, premier Hun Sen, not Cambodia as a country.

"We do not have the right to appoint a representative from Cambodia, for we are not a member of the G20. They invited the ASEAN chair, which is prime minister Hun Sen,” the premier underlined.

Samdech continued, for the APEC Leaders’ Informal Dialogue in Thailand, the Thai prime minister also invited the ASEAN chair. Therefore, Samdech can not appoint a representative on his behalf.
