Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 24 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen and chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the US House of Representatives Gregory W. Meeks, vowed to strengthen the relations and cooperation between Cambodia and the US in a meeting held on 23 November 2022 at the Peace Palace, during the latter's visit to Cambodia to attend the 43th ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA).

“Addressing the US's concerns with regard to Ream Naval Base, premier Hun Sen reaffirmed Cambodia's firm stance not to allow the presence of any foreign military base on the country's territory as prohibited by the Constitution and assured the transparency in the use of this port,” according to the outcomes seen by Fresh News on Thursday (Nov 24).
