Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 1 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen unveiled that three Cambodian peacekeepers were injured in Mali during their UN Peacekeeping Missions.

The premier spoke at the 11th Anniversary of Minebea Establishment in the kingdom, held on Thursday morning (Dec 1).

“Three days ago, our troops (peacekeepers) were injured in Mali due to landmines,” the premier underscored.

According to the National Centre for Peacekeeping Forces, 8,302 Cambodian troops, 580 of them female, have completed 11 missions in nine countries to date. Past assignments include operations in Sudan, South Sudan, Chad, Central African Republic, Lebanon, Mali, Syria, Cyprus and Yemen. Cambodia troops are currently deployed in South Sudan, Lebanon, Central African Republic and Mali.
