Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 1 – At the beginning of COVID19 outbreak, Cambodia was severely insulted for her low health system by some medias of developed countries. Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen today asked if those medias are ashamed of their reports?

The premier spoke at the 11th anniversary of Minebea establishment in the kingdom, held on Thursday morning (Dec 1).

"At the beginning of the COVID19 outbreak, Cambodia was seriously criticized by some media in developed countries. Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Bangladesh and some other countries have been insulted for the low healthcare systems. Today I ask those who insulted us if they regretted what they wrote? The fight against COVID19 does not solely depend on the advanced health system, yet it requires cooperation,” the premier underscored.

Cambodia was placed fourth in the latest edition of Nikkei’s COVID19 Recovery Index. Bahrain topped the list followed by Qatar and Rwanda as of 30 September 2022.
