Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 5 – The Government of Japan, through the Embassy of Japan in Cambodia, granted USD 186,856 to two projects under the Japanese Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Project (Kusanone Grant).

The signing ceremony for the Japanese Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Project, was held on Monday (Dec 5) between Japanese deputy chief of mission of the Embassy of Japan to Cambodia Taninai Ichitomo, Kampong Speu provincial public works department director Su Sunthara, and Kampong Cham provincial department of water resources and meteorology director Oum Vibol.

The two projects include:

First, bridge construction project in Omlaing commune, Thpong district, Kampong Speu province (USD 99,212) beneficiary Kampong Speu Provincial Public Works Department.

Second, Toul Andet Irrigation Rehabilitation Project in Kampong Cham Province (USD 87,644) beneficiary Kampong Cham Provincial Department of Water Resources and Meteorology.

"Over the last 30 years, the Embassy of Japan in Cambodia has contributed to more than 660 projects nationwide through the Kusanone Grant. We are pleased that these projects have directly contributed to improving the quality of life of Cambodians at the basic level,” Taninai Ichitomo underscored.
