Sihanoukville (FN), Dec. 22 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said that the construction of infrastructure is an equitable distribution of national economy, speaking at the inauguration of a 43-kilometer road connecting Prey Nup District to Sihanoukville on Thursday morning.

The achievement today is helpful for people to spend less time and cost on travelling, the premier added.

“Infrastructure investment is the equitable distribution of the national economy,” said the premier. “Like I have always said, the equitable distribution of the economic growth is nothing better than building infrastructure to serve the people regardless of their social status.”

Samdech continued, for Sihanoukville, the Royal Government has allocated a total of USD 400 million of the national budget for infrastructure development.

On that occasion, in order to protect the common interest, the premier called for no overloaded vehicles which cause road damages.

At the same time, premier Hun Sen also announced more infrastructure projects, including construction of Road No. 41 in Kampong Speu, expansion of Road No. 31, Road No. 33 in Kampot, Road No. 7 from Skun to Kampong Cham, and construction of a bridge in Kratie connecting to Kampong Thom, Cambodia-Korea Friendship Bridge, the expressway bridge from Phnom Penh to Lvea Em district, Kandal province to the Vietnamese border, the bridge linking Chak Angre to Chbar Ampov district.

Samdech also revealed other infrastructure projects, including the bridge from Kampong Chhnang to Kampong Thom, roads connecting Battambang and Siem Reap, the expressway from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap, the express railway from Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville and from Sihanoukville to the Thai border.

Premier Hun Sen added that the Royal Government will work to further connect the internal infrastructure to serve the socio-economic development and reduce the hardships of the people by generating income for the people.
