Sihanoukville (FN), Dec. 22 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen urged to further follow up on the sale of Sam Rainsy’s confiscated house for legal compensation as the premier has only received approximately USD 700,000 out of USD 1 million worth of compensation.

The premier spoke at the inauguration of a 43-kilometer road connecting Prey Nup District to Sihanoukville on Thursday morning.

Sam Rainsy was sued by premier Hun Sen on 18 January 2017 for public defamation under article 305 of the penal code after Sam Rainsy alleged that premier bribed former CNRP activist Thy Sovantha USD 1 million to attack the opposition party.

Convict Rainsy was also sued by Samdech Heng Samrin on 20 November 2015, after he posted a video on 17 November 2015, accusing the Cambodian state regime led by Samdech Heng Samrin of convicting late king father Sihanouk as a traitor.

Rainsy was also sued by minister Sar Kheng's lawyer on 2 July 2019, for incitement to cause social unrest, especially after posting a distorted message about Hok Lundy's death. Rainsy accused the premier as the murderer and stated that the son of Hok Lundy, Dy Vichea, was plotting a revenge with the support of Sar Kheng.
