Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 1 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen decided to increase annual support fund for Acting for Women in Distressing Situations (AFESIP) organization.

The premier spoke when he and his spouse Bun Rany visited the organization on Sunday (Jan 1) in Phnom Penh.

The government funded additional USD 50,000 and increased the monthly food budget from 10 million Riels (approximately USD 2,500) to 20 million Riels (approximately USD 5,000).

This new policy starts from January 2023 and will continue to provide a monthly allowance of 100,000 Riels (approximately USD25) to all the girls at AFESIP, the premier added.

The premier also urged rice suppliers to provide good quality rice.

On that occasion, Samdech added that the increase in food budget for AFESIP Cambodia is to improve the living standards of the children.
