Phnom Penh (FN), Jun. 13 – The Asian Vision Institute (AVI) in collaboration with the Pacific Regional Science Conference Organization (PRSCO) will be hosting the 18th PRSCO Summer Institute Conference from 12-14 June 2023 in Siem Reap, Kingdom of Cambodia, with about 110 participants from across the world. As part of the Conference, we also conduct a Nurturing Talent Training on "Social Accounting Matrix (SAM) Analysis and Computer General Equilibrium (CGE) Modelling for Development and Planning" on 12-13 June 2023 to give the trainees from the Southeast and East Asian regions, including Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia and Sri Lanka, learn and equip themselves with a deeper knowledge and understanding of CGE modelling and analysis on Social Accounting Matrix. We have the honour to have Professor Budy P. Resosudarmo from the Australian National University and Associate Professor Yuri Mansury from the Illinois Institute of Technology will lead this one-and-a-half-day training.

The first day of the training program will begin with an introduction to Social Accounting Matrix Analysis and Computable General Equilibrium (CGE), followed by training sessions on the very touchable topics of 1) Poverty and Inequality: Concepts and Measures, 2) Sustainable Development, 3) Social Accounting Matrix for Development Planning, and 4) Sustainable Development. The training session's second day will again begin at 9:00 AM and cover the topics of 1) implementing a CGE using the GAMS software and 2) CGE for development planning," according to the AVI's press release seen by Fresh News on Tuesday (Jun 13).
