Phnom Penh (FN), Jun. 14 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen further called on workers to go to vote on 23 July 2023, speaking on Wednesday morning (Jun 14) during his meeting with nearly 20,000 workers in Phnom Penh.

"I would like to call on everyone to go to vote as you will be given three days of paid leave from 22-24 July. […] Go to vote and do not believe in incitement because it is our right to vote. In Australia, if you failed to vote, you will be fined. However, in our case, we will only punish those who prevent the citizens from going to vote," the premier underscored.

According to Australian Electoral Commission, if the citizens failed to vote at a federal election or by-election, they will receive a Failure to Vote notice and may have to pay a fine.
