Phnom Penh (FN), Jun. 19 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said that the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) has set up local working groups at the provinces since 1982 in order to connect with citizens and participate in local development.

The premier spoke during the closing ceremony of a meeting to review the activities of the sixth-mandate Royal Government's Working Groups, held on Monday afternoon (Jun 19) at the Peace Palace.

"We have been deploying our local working groups since 1982. Sometimes we send our officers to be the deputy district or the district chief [...] At that time, even the diplomats are required to pass through the local working group first," the premier underscored.
