Phnom Penh (FN), Jun. 19 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said that the amendment to the national election law act not only as a reform for individual who stands as a candidate in elections, but also ensures the election process run smoothly.

The premier spoke during the closing ceremony of a meeting to review the activities of the sixth-mandate Royal Government's Working Groups, held on Monday afternoon (Jun 19) at the Peace Palace.

"We have drafted a law on the amendment to the national election law. The amendment not only acts as a reform for individual who stands as candidate at election, but also protects the whole election procedures and other election-related activities by not allowing ill-intended individuals to destroy the democratic process in our country," the premier underscored.
