Phnom Penh (FN), Jun. 24 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen warned some local citizens not to follow the incitement of ill-intended group abroad to cause social unrest in Cambodia, for such action could face imprisonment, and no one can help.

The premier spoke on Saturday morning (Jun 24) during his meeting with nearly 20,000 workers in Phnom Penh.

"Peace is precious for everyone. Everyone wants peace. However, the opposition group wants war. For instance, they plot the plan to kidnap Hun Sen and call on the armed forces shoot at Hun Sen. People who follow their incitement shall be imprisoned, not the ill-intended group abroad," the premier underscored.

"The government must take strict measures to protect 17 million citizens. I would like to announce I am not afraid to sacrifice 100 to 200 people to protect the peace for the whole nation," the premier added.

Samdech requested all workers to jointly maintain peace to ensure Cambodia’s long-term development.
