Phnom Penh (FN), Jun. 26 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen informed that the new government will be officially sworn in on August 29 if the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) wins the 7th mandate general election.

The premier spoke on Monday (June 26) during an official inauguration of a new building of the Court of Justice.

The election will take place on 23 July 2023 and there will be no re-election, the premier reaffirmed.

Premier Hun Sen stated, "as planned, the National Assembly will convene and take the oath on 28 August 2023. The next day (Aug 29), the government of the 7th mandate will be formed in the morning and take the oath of office in the evening. This is the date of forming a new government of CPP wins the upcoming election."

The 7th Mandate National Election will be held on 23 July 2023, with the participation of 18 political parties, of which the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) is No. 18 on the ballot paper.
