Sihanoukville (FN), Jul. 8 – The freshly constructed and refurbished Tourist Port of the Preah Sihanouk Province was officially inaugurated on 6 July 2023 in the esteemed presences of Cambodian tourism minister Thong Khon, and Sihanoukville governor Kouch Chamroeun.

Neak Oknha Tea Vichet, general manager of GTVC Import Export, said the tourist port will be able to host 20 small and large tourist boats simultaneously, providing two-way services of maritime route between the mainland Sihanouk province and each of the island in Cambodia.

The newly inaugurated tourist port sits atop an area of 22,000 square meter. The new port replaces and older port which had been in service, though in a limited scale and operation. The new port is a safe and internationally-qualified tourist port, which houses also many well-known brands of entertainment venues, restaurants, and coffee shops. These available services can provide a modern, convenient and easily accommodable experiences for tourists from all over the world to travel back and forth to and from many tourist gems across the islands of the kingdom.

Sihanoukville’s new flagship port receives accolades from provincial governor Kouch Chamroeun who stated in his remarks that the new port will be another significant asset of the province, boosting confidence of investors and trust on the Royal Government’s visionary leadership.

With the new port in operation, the governor is greatly confident that the Sihanoukville will be able to receive more international tourist cruises and vessels of a larger scale with greater numbers of international tourists.

Governor Kouch Chamroeun stated that Sihanoukville stands ready to welcome national and international guests to visit the new faces of the province’s tourism potentials in its great variety of attractions including beaches, natural coastlines and islands.
