Phnom Penh (FN), Jul. 14 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen considered that the reconstructed Cambodia-France memorial, the Monuments aux Morts, is a reminder to all Cambodians to understand the value of peace, and urged for their contributions to prevent war.

The premier spoke on Friday (Jul 14) during an inauguration ceremony of the memorial statue in Phnom Penh.

Premier Hun Sen said, "the inauguration of the memorial to the 198 Cambodian and French volunteer soldiers who lost their lives in World War I between 1916-1918 is a reminder to all Cambodians of the value of peace, which is the universal value of humanity."

On that occasion, Samdech also urged people to jointly prevent war and social instability, especially to maintain the existing peace for a prosperous nation.
