Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 24 – South Korean president Yoon Suk Yeol sent a congratulatory letter to Cambodian prime minister Hun Manet on his recent appointment, according to the letter seen by Fresh News on Thursday (Aug. 24).

“After the re-establishment of diplomatic relations in 1997, Cambodia and South Korea have been continuously developing cooperation and friendship in many fields, including trade, investment, and cooperation for the development of people-to-people exchanges. I had the pleasure of having an in-depth discussion with Samdech Hun Sen on measures for the development of relations between the two countries during the ASEAN Summit last November, which was successfully held under the leadership of Cambodia, the chair of ASEAN.

I wish to continue the good cooperation with His Excellency (Hun Manet) in developing the relationship between our two countries in an environmentally friendly manner and for further mutual benefit.

I look forward to furthering closer ties with Cambodia through the Korea-ASEAN Solidarity Initiative (KASI) within the ASEAN framework as well.”
