Jakarta (FN), Sep. 4 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Manet and Indonesian president Joko Widodo pledged to strengthen and expand cooperation between the two countries.

Both leaders met on the sidelines of the 43rd ASEAN Summit and Related Summits in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Indonesian president Joko Widodo warmly welcomed Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet.

During the meeting, Joko Widodo congratulated Hun Manet on his recent appointment as Cambodian prime minister for the 7th legislature of the National Assembly.

As his close friend, Joko Widodo also extended his deepest greetings to Samdech Techo Hun Sen, president of the Supreme Privy Council of the King.

In response, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet expressed his deep gratitude for the congratulations and greetings to Samdech Techo. He also commended the warm hospitality of the country and the people of Indonesia as the host of the 43rd ASEAN Summit and related summits.

On that occasion, the two leaders also discussed and agreed to further strengthen cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, human resource training and education, countering terrorism and transnational crime.
