Kampong Speu (FN), Sep. 9 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Manet said that Cambodia's participation in the 43rd ASEAN Summit and Related Summits in Indonesia reflected Cambodia's commitment to solving regional and global crises.

The premier spoke on Saturday (Sep. 9) during a meeting with nearly 20,000 workers in Kampong Speu province.

"As a member of the United Nations, ASEAN member, and a sovereign country, our national interests shall also be linked to regional interests. I attend [Summit] to reaffirm Cambodia's position on key regional and global policies, especially in our region," the premier underscored.

Samdech Thipadei highlighted three major tasks that he has done for the nation such as:

First, to connect and continue Cambodian diplomatic relations with participating countries.

Second, the bilateral meetings that aim to strengthen relations with neighboring countries and other countries worldwide to further strengthen cooperation.

Third, economic affairs that promote trade and attract investment to Cambodia, including boosting rice exports to Indonesia, agricultural cooperation and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) with the Philippines, and increasing quotas for Cambodian workers to South Korea and Malaysia.
