Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 5 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Manet affirmed his ambition to make all public schools starting from elementary to high school good quality schools.

The premier spoke on Thursday (Oct. 5) on the occasion of the 26th National Teacher's Day, held at Institute of Technology of Cambodia.

Samdech Thiapdei underscored, "my ambition is that children of one district do not need to go to another district to have a better school. We will make all public schools good quality schools in their respective districts.”

Samdech recalled the fact that parents are willing to take and send their children to school far away for better education.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet stated that the goal of the Royal Government is to strengthen the education sector through improving the quality of education in public schools in order to cultivate our human resources to have high capacity, virtue, ethics and discipline.

Samdech Thipadei added that studies found that some schools where teachers are highly creative in teaching do not need additional budget and they have become a role model for other schools.
