Phnom Penh (FN), Oct. 12 – Brazilian president Luis Inácio Lula da Silva sent a congratulatory letter to Cambodian prime minister Hun Manet on his recent appointment.

“Brazil and Cambodia have a shared history marked by friendship and mutual respect. The recent decision of opening an Embassy in Brasilia constitutes a concrete proof of the continued strengthening of the relations between our countries and the determination to continue working together to face common challenges and to promote peace, development and the well-being of our peoples.

As you take the high responsibilities of your new position, please accept, Your Excellency, my best wishes of success, and my vows that your mandate be crowned with achievements to the benefit of the Cambodian people, contributing to the building up of a more just, peaceful and prosperous world” according to the letter seen by Fresh News on Thursday (Oct. 12).
