Chinese president Xi Jinping has underlined that the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) aims to strengthen policies, infrastructure, trade, finance and people-to-people ties, and boost global economic growth.

It should be noted the Belt and Road Initiative was announced by Chinese president Xi Jinping in 2013 with the aim of raising the flag of peaceful development, actively developing the country's economic cooperation partnership along the "Belt and Road", and together building a community of common interests, common destiny and common responsibility with mutual political trust, economic integration and a cultural environment.

The BRI seek to promote and facilitate the development of transport infrastructure, energy, trade and communications, as well as other work.

As of the end of June 2023, 152 countries and 32 international organizations have signed more than 200 cooperation documents on the joint construction of the Belt and Road with China, demonstrating that the BRI has become the largest international cooperation forum in the world.
