Kampong Speu (FN), Oct. 30 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Manet once again highlighted the benefits of establishing the National Authority for Non-judicial Dispute Resolution as an additional option to resolve court cases.

The premier spoke on Monday (Oct. 30) during an inauguration of Kampong Speu provincial administration building.

This additional mechanism will help reduce congestion of court cases and its power is equivalent to the final verdict of the court, the premier added.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei stated that the resolution aims to resolve civil and commercial disputes as well as other disputes, and the citizens can choose to resolve their disputes by using this mechanism on a voluntary basis.

The establishment of the authority helps bring this effective and convenient resolution closer to the people as it is time efficiency and greatly brings harmony to the society through win-win mechanisms, Samdech Thipadei added.

"The benefit of establishing a National Authority for Non-judicial Reconciliation is to resolve civil disputes, trade disputes and other disputes through mediation based on agreements between the parties and at the request of the parties that agree to accept the mediation mechanism. I would like to emphasize that the establishment of this mechanism is not to force you to use this mechanism. It s just an additional option,” premier Hun Manet underlined.

At the same time, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet also instructed the relevant authorities to widely disseminate the information of the resolution to the people.

It should be noted that the draft Royal Decree on the establishment, organization, and operation of the National Authority for Non-judicial Reconciliation was fully approved at the weekly cabinet meeting on 27 October 2023.
