Kampong Speu (FN), Nov. 10 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet stated that the seventh-mandate Royal Government will continue to focus on modernizing the armed forces’ capacity to respond effectively in a timely manner, especially within the naval defense system.

The premier spoke during the 28th anniversary of the Established of Special Forces Command in Kampong Speu on Friday morning (Nov. 10).

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet underlined that the new Royal Government of Cambodia will continue to adhere to the policy of "protection for development, development for protection".

On this occasion, Samdech Thipadei highlighted the consistent policy of the seventh-mandate Royal Government in the realm of national defense. The focus remains unwavering, centering on the protection of independence, national sovereignty, and territorial integrity. The primary emphasis remains on safeguarding the hard-earned peace achieved by the nation.

"The Royal Government of the 7th legislature of the National Assembly is committed to prioritizing the modernization of the armed forces' capabilities, with a particular emphasis on enhancing rapid and efficient response capabilities. We will further strengthen the capacity of the Special Forces. We are getting stronger and we are also focusing on strengthening our defense system, especially the naval defense system, which now plays a more active role in safeguarding national security, " Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet underscored.

In addition, the premier added that Cambodia is set to actively participate in the United Nations peacekeeping missions showcasing Cambodia’s soft power on the international stage. As a country with experience in the field of landmines, Cambodia will also share the knowledge with all countries, which is a purely humanitarian effort.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet reiterated the commitment to continue to participate in humanitarian activities with the United Nations.
