Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 15 – Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP) and Honorary President of the National Council of the Solidarity Front for the Development of Cambodia Motherland (SFDCM) shared seven priceless lessons for survival, rebuilding and defending the nation.

Samdech Techo spoke during the 6th General Assembly of the SFDCM on Wednesday morning (Nov. 15) in Phnom Penh.

The seven lessons are as follow:

1. Crafting effective political paths, strategies, and tactics is paramount for ensuring successful leadership and attaining national victories. Over the last 45 years, our organization has consistently navigated the country in the right direction, aligning with the dynamic national and international landscape. Our success stems from our ability to connect with the people, attentively listen to their opinions, engage in regular self-examination, and demonstrate a genuine commitment to addressing our shortcomings. This proactive approach allows us to remain responsive to the evolving needs and aspirations of our citizens.

2. The people are the primary driving force behind the struggle for national liberation, the construction of our nation, and its defense. They form the bedrock for supporting political leadership within our society. National task cannot be accomplished without understanding, support and participation of the people.

3. Solidarity is the priority for the nation. To guarantee solidarity, we must have the right leadership and adhere to the principles of democracy, freedom, and the rule of law. At the same time, all acts of violence, incitement, division, and conflicts must be strictly prohibited. In this sense, adhering to the rule of law, especially imposing strict legal measures to maintain political stability, security, and public order in all circumstances, has strengthened our national solidarity.

4. Peace and stability are indispensable foundations for development, while inclusive and equity development are necessary to ensure and strengthen peace and stability. In the pursuit of national peace, it is crucial to acknowledge that conflicts and divisions, stemming from the mismanagement of past leadership and external interference, have bequeathed challenges to the next generation. War is not the solution.

5. In every circumstance, we will heighten our awareness and conscience, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to sacrifice for the protection of our independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. This commitment is characterized by robust sustainability and an unyielding stance against external aggression, free from any fear. National independence and sovereignty stand as the paramount values, securing the very existence of our nation and serving as a formidable pillar sustaining peace and progress in our country.

6. In every circumstance, our people must steadfastly maintain their role as the rightful owners of their country, placing unwavering faith in their own capabilities and endeavors.

7. Good friendship, solidarity, and cooperation with neighboring countries and countries in the world on the principles of mutual peace, respect for independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, equality, equal status, and mutual benefits are necessary to ensure the development and stability of our nation. Therefore, in all circumstances, citizens must pay close attention to building and sustaining robust ties, friendships, and cooperation with friendly nations and international organizations.
