Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 15 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet said that the Royal Government has allowed citizens to lease real estate to foreigners for extended periods ranging from 15 to 50 years. Notably, the government maintains a policy that restricts foreigners from acquiring ownership of the property.

The premier spoke on Wednesday afternoon (Nov. 15) during the inauguration of the Koh Norea Bridge in Phnom Penh.

"We strictly adhere to our Constitution, which prohibits foreigners from acquiring property ownership in Cambodia," the premier underscored.

Samdech Thipadei continued that this new policy significantly contributes to fostering economic growth and establishing clear conditions for lands available for lease.
