Phnom Penh (FN), Nov. 15 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet issued an order for the Phnom Penh City Taskforce Unit to tighten security and safety measures and public order, and to prevent potential social unrest, as Water Festival approaches.

The premier spoke on Wednesday afternoon (Nov. 15) during the inauguration ceremony of the Koh Norea Bridge in Phnom Penh.

"For the upcoming Water Festival, I would like to emphasize to the Phnom Penh City Taskforce Unit the importance of ensuring security, safety, public order, and the prevention of any potential social unrest, especially during the festival. This is crucial to ensure the enjoyment and well-being of local and international tourists," the premier underscored.

It should be noted that the Water Festival will take place from November 26 to 28, 2023.
