Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 5 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet revealed that the Royal Government allocated USD1,355 million in 2021 and an additional USD600 million in 2022 to assist individuals affected by COVID19 and inflation.

The premier spoke on Tuesday morning (Dec. 5) at the official launch of the National Social Assistance Program at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel.

"I would like to remind you that, in response to the COVID19 outbreak and the Russia-Ukraine war, the Royal Government allocated approximately USD1,355 million in 2021 and an additional USD600 million in 2022. These funds were designated for intervention measures addressing the social and economic impact of the crises, particularly in the fight against COVID19," the premier underscored.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei continued that the intervention measures include a family package framework for poor and vulnerable households, a cash transfer program for suspended workers, a vocational training program, a cash labor program, and cash assistance programs for families affected by natural disasters and inflation.
