Siem Reap (FN), Dec. 8 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet announced the development initiatives for Run Ta Ek area, aiming to transform it into a new city, speaking on Friday morning (Dec. 8) during his meeting with nearly 3,000 people who voluntarily relocate to Run Ta Ek Area, Siem Reap province.

Samdech Thipadei advised the relevant ministries and institutions to collaborate in organizing the necessary infrastructure and administrative systems to achieve this objective.

"This area is not an ordinary district. Samdech Techo [Hun Sen] already set the direction that Run Ta Ek’s infrastructure should be developed to become a city,” the premier underscored.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei continued that the Run Ta Ek development area boasts numerous roads, with over 200 or nearly 300 lines, including 55 concrete roads. The provision of clean water and electricity is gradually being connected, even if not at 100 percent, and this progress was achieved in just 400 days.

Samdech Thipadei asked the Minister of Land Management Say Sam Al to regularly monitor the progress of this task.
