Hanoi (FN), Dec. 12 – Cambodia-Viet Nam prime ministers have set a target to increase a bilateral trade to USD 20 billion in the upcoming years.

Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hosted a Banquet for Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and Cambodian Delegation on 11 December 2023 in Hanoi, Viet Nam.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet underscored that, "With the high level of political trust between both sides [Cambodia-Viet Nam], we will continue to successfully implement all the agreements, Memorandums of Understanding, and directions that have been put in place. This is aimed at promoting socio-economic development and prosperity for both countries.”

On the occasion, premier Hun Manet added, “Cambodia and Viet Nam have not only achieved a trade target of USD 5 billion by 2020, but this trend has also doubled to nearly USD 11 billion by 2022. Me and prime minister Pham Minh Chinh have set a bilateral trade target of USD 20 billion in the near future.”

Viet Nam imports various products to Cambodia, including steel, gasoline, textiles and clothing, and agricultural products, such as fish, meat, vegetables, and fruits, as well as consumer goods. On the other hand, Cambodia's exports to Viet Nam include cashew nuts, rubber, wood, vegetables, fruits, and various other products.
