Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 14 – Cambodia sought collaboration with Viet Nam in effectively implementing border-trade agreements, and facilitating the transit of goods through Viet Nam, according to a press release on the outcomes of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet’s official visit to Viet Nam dated 13 December 2023.

"The Cambodian side sought collaboration with the Vietnamese side in effectively implementing border-trade agreements, facilitating the transit of goods through Viet Nam, and expediting the identification of the connection point for the Phnom Penh-Bavet and Ho Chi Minh City-Moc Bai expressways,” it stated.

"The Cambodian side proposed enhancing trade and investment through complementary cooperation in a "Viet Nam plus One" format, especially in the fields of agriculture, industry, and tourism. The Cambodian side underscored common benefits in developing a Cambodia-Lao PDR-Viet Nam Tourism Development Plan of Action under the slogan of "Three Countries, One Destination", the press release added.

"The talks [between the two prime ministers] encompassed regional issues of shared interest and concern. The two sides noted with satisfaction their mutual support within United Nations, ASEAN and Mekong sub-region frameworks. Leaders agreed to further advance the trilateral cooperation mechanism with Lao PDR in other sectors of importance."
