Tokyo (FN), Dec. 19 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet received a courtesy call by President of NTT DOCOMO, INC Li Motoyuki on Tuesday morning (Dec. 19) in Tokyo, on the sidelines of the ASEAN-Japan Commemorative Summit for the 50th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation.

Li Motoyuki thanked Samdech Thipadei for taking the time to allow him and his delegation to pay a courtesy call. He briefed an overview of the company's telecommunications activities, including the provision of 4G and 5G services, satellite and mobile systems. He also highlighted their partnership with NTT Group to develop 6G technology and expressed the company's intention to expand its investment in Cambodia.

For his part, Samdech Thipadei welcomed the meeting with Li Motoyuki and his delegation and thanked NTT DOCOMO, INC for showing interest in investing in Cambodia as the Royal Government in this mandate has prioritised digital as stipulated in the Pentagonal Strategy Phase I for Cambodia's socio-economic development.

In this sense, the Royal Government focuses on the following five priorities: (1) building digital government and digital citizens; (2) development of digital economy, digital business, e-commerce, and digital innovation system; (3) building and development of digital infrastructure; (4) trustworthiness building in digital systems; and (5) development of financial technology.

In addition, Samdech Thipadei advised NTT DOCOMO, INC to collaborate closely with the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications and relevant authorities to explore and further discuss priority opportunities.
