Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 20 – Jean François Tan, Minister Delegate attached to the Prime Minister in charge of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, underlined that the economy was the focal point of discussion between Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and leaders from various countries as well as prominent Japanese corporations.

The minister delegate spoke at a press conference on Tuesday (Dec. 19) after the premier concluded his five-day visit to Japan to attend the ASEAN-Japan Commemorative Summit for the 50th Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation.

At a working breakfast on Sunday (Dec. 17), Cambodian, Lao and Vietnamese prime ministers continued discussions on promoting the "Three Countries, One Destination" tourism policy and improving the living standards of people along the border, said Jean François Tan.

During the visit, the premier and heads of Japanese companies have expressed their intention to expand their venture capital and investment projects in the kingdom’s various fields, minister delegate added.

At the Cambodia Investment Forum 2023, hosted by the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce, approximately 500 Japanese companies actively participated. It was during this event that Samdech Thipadei showcased Cambodia's vast investment potential to the attending Japanese firms.
