Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 21 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet instructed the minister of Interior and the minister of National Defence to swiftly expel any armed forces found to be involved in drug use.

The premier spoke on Thursday (Dec. 21) at the Ministry of Environment's annual meeting.

"Now, our primary focus that needs implementation, I discussed with Minister Sar Sokha and Minister Tea Seiha, is to cleanse our armed forces from drug influence. Law enforcers must first maintain purity," underscored the premier.

Samdech Thipadei continued that Interior Minister Sar Sokha has already declared that any police officers testing positive for drugs will face termination. Additionally, within the military framework, there has been a practice of expelling soldiers found in possession of illegal substances since 2019.
