Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 22 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet underlined the importance of ministers accompanying him during overseas missions to engage with partner countries and attract investments.

The premier spoke on Friday (Dec. 22) at the closing of annual meeting of the Ministry of Commerce.

"Apart from accompanying me, they [ministers] met with companies or partners, met directly with the private sector, or ministers from each country. I advised all ministers to seize the opportunity, be well-prepared, and proactively engage in direct discussions. It is like marketing, and it requires lobbying," the premier underscored.

"We must maximize our efforts. Although meeting with 100 individuals doesn't guarantee that all will invest, not meeting at all ensures receiving nothing. Through meetings, we enhance the likelihood of securing at least 10 percent," added Samdech Thipadei.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet's overseas missions consistently involved active engagement. Ministers accompanying Samdech Thipadei also convened meetings to promote Cambodia abroad.
