Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 22 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet advised the Ministry of Commerce to widely disseminate market-related information and conditions to all stakeholders.

The premier spoke on Friday (Dec. 22) at the closing of annual meeting of the Ministry of Commerce.

"The Ministry of Commerce shall continue to widely spread market-related information and conditions to all stakeholders to avoid oversupply," the premier underscored.

In addition, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet also instructed the Ministry of Commerce to collaborate in bolstering the production of local products and formulating strategies to promote the use of domestic products through local and international exhibitions.

At the same time, the Ministry of Commerce shall assist the private sector in establishing capital-provincial chambers of commerce and representatives of the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce abroad, as well as establishing trade and productive associations to participate in the supply chain and seize trade opportunities.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei also called on the Ministry of Commerce to continue to research and register more geographical indications, certification marks, and collective marks in order to elevate the quality and brand of Cambodian products in both local and international markets, with a strategic focus on reducing imports from abroad.
