Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 25 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet participated in the Fourth Mekong-Lancang Cooperation (MLC) Leaders' Meeting via videoconference on Monday (Dec. 25).

“Under the theme 'Join Hands on Building of a Community of Shared Future and Modernization among Mekong-Lancang Countries”. The leaders will review overall progress and chart future directions for widening cooperation, promote mutual trust and strengthen partnership under the MLC framework, contributing to socio-economic development and enhancing the well-bejing of the people of the sub-region,” according to the ministry’s press release dated 23 December 2023.

“Three documents are expected to be adopted, namely: (1) the Nay Pyi Taw Declaration; (2) the Five-Year Plan of Action of MLC (2023-2027); (3) the Joint Initiative on the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Innovation Corridor Development.

The Fourth MLC Leaders' Meeting will be a milestone for the Mekong-Lancang countries to realize their common goals of promoting peace, stability and prosperity in the sub-region and advance MLC Cooperation to a higher level, through the launching of the implementation of the Five-Year Plan of Action.”
