Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 27 – Cambodian Prime Minister, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet called on authorities and relevant ministries and institutions to tighten security measures and maintain public order to prevent social unrest, especially during the upcoming New Year’s Eve.

The premier spoke on Wednesday (Dec. 27) during an inauguration ceremony for Cheung Aek Sewage Treatment Plant in Phnom Penh.

Samdech Thipadei underscored, "I would like to take this opportunity to advise the authorities to continue serving the people, particularly in maintaining security and order against all types of crimes.”

“The effective implementation of policies ensures that villages and communes are safe, specifically addressing crimes including as gambling, drug trafficking, and use. This is essential to eliminate inactivity and risks for our people, ensuring that Phnom Penh remains a place of comfort and peace for both our physical and mental well-being on the streets,” the premier added.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei also thanked the Phnom Penh Municipal Police, Provincial Police Commissioners, National Police Commissioners and the Armed Forces in all capital-provinces for their diligent efforts in serving the people in both public and private services, ensuring security and social order.
