Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 27 – Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet instructed the Ministry of Tourism to collaborate with the Capital-Provincial Administration in adorning numerous entertainment venues to cater to the needs of both national and international tourists on the occasion of New Year's Eve.

In addition, the private sector is encouraged to actively engage in organizing concerts, performances, Khmer boxing, and various other entertainment options to enhance the appeal for both local and international tourists.

The premier spoke on Wednesday (Dec. 27) during an inauguration ceremony for Cheung Aek Sewage Treatment Plant in Phnom Penh.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet shared some recommendations for the upcoming New Year’s Eve as follows:

1. The Phnom Penh Capital Administration, along with provincial administrations, should continue to strengthen security, safety, and public order. They must enhance the management of the local situation, taking timely and effective measures to prevent any activities that may lead to social unrest.

2. The Ministry of Tourism should collaborate with the Capital-Provincial Administration to decorate various entertainment venues to cater to the people, as well as national and international tourists.

3. The Ministry of Tourism and the National Committee for Clean City Evaluation should continue to organize city competitions for the best annual New Year’s Eve celebrations. These events will be examined and evaluated based on key features such as security, safety, hygiene, environment, decoration, and entertainment options to promote national tourism.
