Phnom Penh (FN), Dec. 27 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet urged all journalists to respect professional ethics by publishing accurate news and being bold in editing, speaking on Wednesday morning (Dec. 27) during an inauguration ceremony for the Cheung Aek Sewage Treatment Plant in Phnom Penh.

"I would like to express my gratitude to journalists for their hard work in disseminating news quickly, but it needs to contain all aspects. If there are inaccuracies, please make the necessary edits. It is a professional duty," the premier underlined.

At the same time, Samdech Thipadei stated that the Royal Government is not afraid of negative news because such news serves as a basis for the government to address issues. Samdech Thipadei continued that democracy, rights, and freedoms must come with ethics and responsibility.

The premier added that spreading fake news can adversely affect others and violate the rights of individuals, particularly infringing upon the rights of citizens to receive accurate information about the future of the nation.
