Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 1 — Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Head of Supreme Privy Council to the King, recalled important events happening on him in January.

Samdech Techo posted on his social media on Monday (Jan. 1) as follows:

“What are worth remembering for me in January? Here are some highlights:

1. Got hit on the right shoulder in the battlefield (Garrison D15) on 1 January 1975.
2. Wedding day on 5 January 1976.
3. Day of liberating nation and people out of Pol Pot genocidal regime on 7 January 1979.
4. Elected as one of seven leaders of party’s central committee at the 3rd party’s General Assembly in the morning of 8 January 1979.
5. Elected Minister of Foreign Affairs in the evening of 8 January 1979.
6. Elected Chairman of the Council of Ministers (Prime Minister) in the morning of 14 January 1985.
7. Sihanouk-Hun Sen second talk in France on 20-21 January 1988.
8. The start of pregnancy of my wife on the birth of Hun Manet in January 1977.
9. Received the first grandchild on 28 January 2000.

There are still some more which I think should not be recalled.”
