Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 9 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet granted approval for five ministries to conduct new officials’ recruitment with clear and fair reform, speaking on Tuesday morning (Jan. 9) during his meeting with Grade A high school students at OCIC, Phnom Penh.

“Last evening, I signed to allow five other ministries that have not yet recruited new officials in 2023. When we formed the new Royal Government, six ministries were designated to recruit new officials namely the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, and a few other ministries. I asked them to organise new procedure to strengthen the institutes,” the premier underscored.

"Quantity is one thing; quality is another. We need to create an environment that fosters the capacity both new and old officials, and establish an incentive system linked to results. The goal is to encourage everyone to contribute," the premier continued.

Samdech Thipadei added that many officials in ministries and institutions have been sent abroad to acquire new skills and bring those skills back to serve the nation. Over the past 40 years, the Royal Government has undertaken numerous reforms, emphasizing the importance of regular reviews to ensure their continued effectiveness.
