Davos (FN), Jan. 17 – Wilmar International Group, leading agricultural company in Asia, is actively exploring investment opportunities in rice and sugarcane in Cambodia.

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet received a courtesy call by Chairman and CEO of Wilmar International Group Kuok Khoon Hong on 16 January 2024 in Davos, Switzerland.

During the meeting, Kuok Khoon Hong expressed gratitude to Samdech Thipadei for the courtesy extended to him and his delegation. He briefed Samdech Thipadei on the company's intent to explore investment prospects in Cambodia's agricultural sector focusing on the entire production chain of rice and sugarcane, encompassing cultivation, harvesting, processing, packaging, and export to the international market.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet conveyed his pleasure at meeting with Kuok Khoon Hong and welcomed the company's interest in investing in Cambodia's agricultural sector, which is a potential sector and a priority sector of the seventh-mandate Royal Government, to improve the living standards of the people of Cambodia.
