Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 18 – Cambodia, Brunei pledged to further enhance tourism cooperation and people-to-people exchange between the two countries, along with intra-ASEAN travellers.

Minister of Tourism Sok Soken received a courtesy call from Pengiran Kasmirhan Pengiran Tahir, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei to Cambodia, on 17 January 2024 to discuss opportunities for cooperation in strengthening tourism between the two countries.

"Both sides underlined the importance of tourism sector as an essential element and in the enhancement of socio-economic development and people-to-people connectivity of the two countries within the bilateral and multilateral framework", according to the outcomes seen by Fresh News on Thursday (Jan. 18).

Minister Sok Soken shared a new vision for the development of Cambodia tourism sector by highlighting the strategic initiative "BUILD + 3Ds", along with many other strategic efforts, with the aim of transforming Cambodia into a dynamic, competitive, sustainable and inclusive destination.

Both sides recalled the spirit of the official state visit of Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolikiah Mu'izzaddin Waddauulah, King of Brunei Darussalam, to Cambodia on 14 November 2022, which both leaders agreed to promote the development of tourism in both countries, the press release added.
