Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 19 – Cambodian Delegate Minister, also Chairman of the Royal Government Spokesperson's Unit Pen Bona presented the achievements of the six months of leadership under Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet. He also outlined some aspects of Cambodia's journey towards becoming a high-income country by 2050.

Minister Pen Bona underlined that the transformation of Cambodia into a high-income country by 2050 is the vision for the next 25 years of the Royal Government of Cambodia under the leadership of Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, as set forth in a Pentagon Strategy. Cambodia must take two steps, including to achieve upper middle-income status by 2030, and to become a high-income country by 2050.

During the press conference, Pen Bona presented arguments indicating that the Cambodian Royal Government dares to set such ambitious goals because the seventh-mandate Government has a robust foundation laid by Samdech Techo Hun Sen, and others. He highlighted the strength, capability, and determination of the next generation of leaders who are poised to continue this legacy.

In 2050, when Cambodia becomes a high-income country, Minister Pen Bona presented several key aspects outlining the country's situation as follow:

Economic Aspect: The economy of Cambodia is characterized by high income and resilience. It must be a robust economy that is not vulnerable to harm or external influences that could destabilize it. Additionally, it should ensure equitable distribution of benefits to the people, fostering a strong environment for economic growth.

Political Perspective: Cambodia is depicted as a nation that promotes peace, political stability, the rule of law, social justice, independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and enjoys high prestige on the international stage. Equality and fairness are fundamental principles of its political landscape.

Social Dimension: Cambodia aims to be a country where all citizens receive comprehensive social protection, especially during times of need, as outlined in the 6-point policy program. This emphasizes the government's commitment to ensuring the welfare and well-being of its people.

Environmental Focus: Cambodia envisions itself as a country with a pristine and green environment where people can thrive and be happy. Environmental sustainability is a crucial aspect of its development goals.

Human Resources: Human capital development is emphasized, focusing on building a highly skilled workforce with strong moral values, good health, and a strong work ethic. Individuals are encouraged to cultivate virtues and contribute positively to society.

To realize these ambitions, Pen Bona underscored the importance of collective efforts, urging all Cambodian citizens to support the Royal Government in achieving its goals.
