Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 26 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet thanked the leader of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, the National Sports Federation, and officials at all levels, as well as coaches and athletes who have brought a brilliant victory in international sports competitions for the nation.

The premier spoke on Monday afternoon (Feb. 26) at the award ceremony for Cambodian athletes, who secured medals and titles at various contests and coaches and assistant coaches at the Peace Palace.

"I would like to thank the leaders of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, the National Sports Federation, and officials at all levels, as well as coaches and athletes who have brought a brilliant victory in international sports competitions for our nation,” the premier underscored.

Taking this occasion, Premier Hun Manet awarded the gold, silver, and bronze medallists with the Royal Government's total cash prize of 3,199 million Riels (approximately USD 780,000).

Samdech Thipadei also praised and appreciated the efforts and the spirit of unity with a sense of responsibility and high commitment of the people involved, which has brought success and achievements for the nation's pride.

The premier added that participation in sports competitions reflected the strengthening of friendship, solidarity, relations, and close cooperation between the states and the people of all participating countries.
